Biography

Precious Allor is an Economist, currently a Ph.D. candidate at Kansas State University. He specializes in empirical macroeconomics with a specific interest in studying the drivers of structural change especially in developing countries. He has over 7 years of experience in the conduct of empirical research in diverse areas of economic policy with his most recent work focusing on understanding the drivers and multidimensional nature of poverty especially in developing countries. Modernization of institutional structures is key to the structural transformation of developing economies. The future direction of his research is to understand the unique ways that communities, institutions, and structures can be better modified to make them more relevant in terms of the dynamics of poverty in developing economies in recent times. He has engaged in research projects that have concentrated on the drivers of rural poverty and is passionate about engaging in the development of frameworks to effectively reduce rural poverty. His strong skills in economic and econometric modeling as well as quantitative data analysis have aided him in his research journey as he is currently a co-author on three different projects. He also works part-time as a tutor for ACETEX learning, where he tutors students utilizing the platform to prepare for the CB2 exam.

Before joining Kansas State University, He earned his master’s in economics from Eastern Illinois University where he served as a Graduate Teaching and Research assistant for two years. During this time, he won several awards for excellence in research and was named the distinguished graduate student of economics. As a research assistant for the Department of student affairs assessment, he coordinated the developement of several assessment tools and coordinated several data collection and analysis activities both internally and in collaboration with other institutions.

Before his time at Eastern Illinois University, He earned a BA in Economics degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He won several accolades, graduating as the best economics student as well as the best student in the entire College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
