Mark Aniadaga serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Teckurban Consult LTD; a Ghana-based firm committed to fostering sustainable urban development through innovative Geospatial and Planning Solutions. The company focuses on delivering advanced Geospatial Consulting and Urban Planning + Design Services. Under Mr. Aniadaga’s leadership, Teckurban harnesses data-driven strategies to tackle complex spatial challenges, improve infrastructure, and promote sustainable growth across Ghana and the United States, transforming community visions into tangible, lasting realities.
With several years of experience as a Strategic and data-driven GIS Analyst and Urban Planner, Mr. Aniadaga has built a distinguished record of turning geospatial expertise into transformative projects. He spearheaded the “Renewing the Heart of Phenix City” initiative in 2022, a comprehensive urban renewal strategy for downtown Phenix City, Alabama in the United States, addressing zoning inefficiencies and economic decline. This project was adopted by city authorities, earned the 2022 Distinguished Leadership Award from the Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) and led to his recognition as #7 among Alabama’s top community leaders by Patch.com media. His work has been showcased at the American Planning Association’s Annual Conference. Similarly, his Corridor Revitalization Plan for the Montgomery Highway in Dothan, Alabama, enhanced traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and business accessibility through innovative land use strategies, gaining recognition from ABC affiliate WDHN media for its impact on urban mobility and economic growth. Mr. Aniadaga’s portfolio includes additional high-impact projects he spearheaded, such as developing GIS-based dashboards to manage $3.7 million in tax relief for housing stabilization for Atlanta’s Beltline and creating a real- time GIS tool to prioritize property acquisitions on Atlanta’s Westside, setting a standard for combating urban blight. He has also led multi-county revitalization efforts in Alabama through land use reforms and regional infrastructure planning and conducted high level spatial analyses for U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD’s) Choice Neighborhood Initiatives to support improvements in housing, education, transportation, and social services for underserved communities.
He holds a Master of City and Regional Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Auburn University, USA. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Spatial Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He is an active member of the American Planning Association (APA) and a distinguished member of the Georgia Geospatial Association (GGA), USA.
